WEDDING DECOR TRENDS

From bold and bright to patterns

We’re always on the lookout for the most unique wedding themes and trends that make your day extra special. With a variety of options, from florals to unexpected colours or bohemian aesthetics, we know it’s hard to pick the perfect wedding style for you. So, we’ve rounded up a selection of our favourites that work perfectly with our spaces. Discover the magic of One Marylebone with its iconic Grade I listed building that has been standing tall since 1826 on its very own ‘island’ in the heart of London.

2024 is set to be a year filled with colour and pops of unexpected designs when it comes to wedding styles and table decor. A stand out for us is the use of interesting colour schemes, including bold tones and colourful glassware. The Galleries is one of our event spaces that perfectly complements this trend. The space boasts double-height Galleries on the first floor. The ‘U’ shaped space is split into East, West, and South Galleries, with natural daylight flooding the former two through floor-to-ceiling windows. With its white walls and airy feel, the space allows you to easily work with different pops of colour throughout. Whether you’re looking to add patterned table decor, colourful glassware or bold standing decor, your colours are guaranteed to complement the space.

Palazzo-inspired wedding decor brings Italy to you without having to haul your whole party on a plane. This theme sees hints of Italian extravagance with statement floors, large stained glass windows and frescoes. Soane Hall, London’s ultimate banquet hall, boasts an impressive ceiling height of over 27 feet and oozes character with its stunning mosaics and stained-glass windows. Whether you’re looking for a classic or contemporary palazzo-inspired vibe, this space is totally flexible and can be tailored to your branding and style.

The use of Celestial motifs is another compelling wedding theme that we love. Here, deep jewel tones like blues, purples, and greens are used to create a whimsical and romantic atmosphere. The Vaults offer an ideal setting for this wedding style. With two floors of event space that give an underground feel, including a mezzanine level that overlooks the main floor. You can make this theme as subtle or as decorated as you like with moon-inspired canapés, special lighting to give the effect of a starlit backdrop for your wedding celebrations, or having decor to add to the atmosphere. With its dark interior, The Vaults offers a space that allows you to work with ambient lighting, an ongoing trend that offers a truly romantic feel, whether you’re looking to do a celestial-themed wedding or not. We all know a little mood lighting makes all the difference.

For a more relaxed and artistic vibe, bohemian styles are taking the stage this year. If you appreciate art and fashion, you can incorporate this into your wedding by layering colourful geometric rugs or lining your tables with rattan chargers and black glassware. Think earthy elements, dreamy linens and lace, and lots of wildflowers. When you enter God’s Garden, you step into a life-sized fairy garden with a magical outdoor space and large green plants. With heaters in the winter and partial open-air seating in the summer, you can enjoy the beauty of the seasons without sacrificing comfort. God’s Garden also plays into the theme of incorporating exposed wood and greenery accentsinto your wedding decorations. The seating area boasts dark wooden tables and chairs, which allows you to play with some interesting bohemian-themed table decorations that sit alongside the wooden touches.

Florals have always played a large role in any wedding ceremony, with them being a key part of most wedding reception decorations. This year, we’re loving flower-packed ceremony decor as we move away from traditional wedding arches. 2024 is the year of grand wedding aisle decor with extravagant floral displays. God’s Garden is, of course, a perfect fit for a floral-themed wedding with its outdoorsy feel. The Galleries also offer a wonderful canvas for some lavish florals and big installations with a huge amount of space available to work with.

To add a touch of extravagance to your ceremony, the use of hanging decor helps to create a dramatic feel. To add a feminine and modern touch, you could adorn your wedding venue with blooms and foliage. Or, you can mix and match with a selection of overhead lighting, canopies and chandeliers. Soane Hall and Galleries offer a space where you can get creative with your hanging decor. From large arches to hanging foliage, open-air structures or grandeur crystals, the opportunities are endless in these iconic spaces.
