Games of Thrones 21st birthday party, One Marylebone

At the beginning of this year, the Game of Thrones fans among us were treated to a spectacular 21st birthday party, designed and executed by Bespoke Events London at One Marylebone.

Even as our waiting staff began to set up it was clear that the Soane Hall was going to be completely transformed. Long rustic dinner tables were decorated with medievalstyle pewter charger plates, cutlery and napkin rings from Jones Hire, and soon the flags of the houses of Game of Thrones were unfurled to create a banquetworthy setting. Once the tables were laid, the talented Pinstripes and Peonies got to work with their centrepieces, which even incorporated animal skulls and horns to really set the scene!
Our bartenders had the run of three fabulous bars throughout the evening – our builtin Galleries bar tied in perfectly with the atmospheric reception when guests arrived, and downstairs Bespoke had designed two more in keeping with the theme. We served a menu of crowdpleasing cocktails throughout the afterdinner party – to name a few as the partystarting Espresso Martinis and classic Dark & Stormy’s!

In amongst the entertainment, One Dining’s dinner menu also proved to be a star of the show. For starters, we served our seared Loch Duart salmon with a treacle glaze, celeriac and mustard. Main course was roast Sussex lamb two ways, and we ended the meal with our team favourite – golden syrup sponge. The rustic plates we hired in and the chef’s expert presentation ensured that the dishes were worthy of a Westeros banquet, and the addition of bacon rolls, fried chicken and triple cooked chips as late night food gave our guests the energy to party into the small hours!
